Mark Thompson
Managing Director

Since founding Èpeus in 2002 Mark
has successfully managed the company through its initial
start up phase into the respected multi-million dollar
global professional management services consultancy it
is today. As well as overseeing the day-to-day running
of Èpeus’s global network of offices and projects, Mark
also consults, advising senior managers within the
financial, exploration and production, and drilling
contractor sectors of the industry.
Prior to founding Èpeus, Mark was
employed by Transocean Inc where he managed a number of
their global projects. During these projects he was
involved in the management and control of construction,
conversion, upgrade, repair and reactivation projects
associated with Transocean’s fleet of offshore drilling
rigs, including the first series of duel activity, ultra
deepwater drill ships.

Emil Venter
Finance Director

Emil has been involved in various
financial management and accounting positions. He has
brought with him a wealth of financial management
experience, having worked for large corporations such as
Barclays etc, as well as smaller companies.
He is responsible for
financial management of the Èpeus group of companies
which include Aberdeen, Houston, Singapore and Abu
Dhabi. His duties include overall cost control of all
projects, cash flow forecasts and control across the
group of companies. He also assist the Business
Development Directors when tendering for new business.

Paul J Franzetti
Director, Legal

Paul has been an attorney for 30
years. His experience has primarily involved complex
general business litigation in the US and international
arbitrations, but includes a corporate securities
practice for a time with a major firm as well as
in-house experience with a Fortune 100 company doing
business internationally.
Among other
things, the litigation and
arbitration matters in which
Paul has been involved have
concerned claims arising out of
design and build construction
contracts, as well as general
contracts, securities issues,
technology transfer agreements,
employment discrimination,
partnership issues, and oil and
gas title issues. His corporate
securities practice included
representation of both issuing
companies and investment
bankers, and his in-house
practice has included a variety
of matters.

Leng Forrest
Special Projects Director
lforrest@epeusservices.com
Leng is very experienced in research
and analysis of International investment and business
risk and mitigation in the Oil and Gas industry. She has
specialist knowledge of Chinese, Russian and West
African markets. Possessing both an engineering degree
and a MBA, Leng is highly skilled in analysing business
activities and recommending strategy to project finance
companies, investment banks and independent E&P
Operators.
